WAVERLEY ALL ABILITIES PROGRAM

Waverley Netball Centre is proud to offer an All Abilities (AA) Program to people with an intellectual and/or physical disability. We give them the opportunity to be active and develop new skills in the sport that we all love - netball. All Abilities netball participants benefit from specialised clinics that concentrate on building their knowledge and skills in a fun and inclusive environment.

Donation of Time:

Our All Abilities (AA) program exists because of the volunteer time so generously given by our coaches and the Waverley Netball Centre (WNC) staff, who open their doors each Sunday to host our training sessions. Our program is designed to support players in developing their netball skills and knowledge, nurturing their love of the game and helping them stay active, all within a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment.

Our dedicated coaches generously volunteer their time every Saturday and Sunday for training, games, and tournaments. Their commitment extends beyond coaching on the court, encompassing team organisation, coach coordination, program development, and the planning of training sessions.

The unwavering support of both our coaches and the WNC Staff is the foundation of our successful AA program, which has been providing opportunities for players to learn, grow, and thrive for more than five years.

Weekly Program:

During the season, we hold training sessions for our AA participants to help develop their netball skills in a fun, but focused format. Held between 10.00am and 11.00am each Sunday morning, our fabulous AA players are guided by our Waverley (and State Team) AA coach Naomi Linossier and assisted by a group of dedicated coaches. The sessions are held on Court 1 at the Waverley Netball Centre.

Competition:

Each week during the Saturday competition, a team of AA participants get to have some organised matchplay when they play a match against a team in the 13/U Section 3. This match is played each week at 10.50am. We also have a mixed abilities team in the 15/U competition. This match is played at 12.30pm.

The team does not play for points - it is about participating and having fun. This has also proven to be a rewarding experience for the teams that they get to play against.

The Association also enters teams in the Netball Victoria Association Championships in the AA Section.

No netball during school holidays or on public holiday weekends.

Uniform:

Waverley Stars have a training T-shirt and Hoodie for sale. The T-Shirt is $44.00 and the Hoodie is $65.00.

Netball Shop purchases are not available on a Sunday.

Orders can be Collected on a Saturday or from your coaches on a Sunday. You will receive an email when it is ready.
