UMPIRING

Waverley Night Netball Association has a strong Umpire Development Program.

We offer Junior Umpire Courses a couple of times a year. See below for the latest programs.

We provide experienced Court Supervisors and Umpire Coaches to develop umpires from unbadged juniors, to Netball Victoria Development Programs, Victorian Netball League (VNL) and Suncorp Super Netball (SSN).

The Netball Shop has just about everything an umpire needs - whistles, rule books and uniforms. Feel free to drop in to see what we have to assist with your umpiring development.

The Netball Shop is open from 9:30am (Mon-Sat) and closes in the last round of matches on competition days/nights or at 5pm on non-competition days.

JUNIOR UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (FOR BEGINNER UMPIRES 13 – 16 YEARS):

Waverley Night Netball Association is conducting a junior umpire's course over three weeks, aimed at brand new umpires between 13 and 16 years of age. No previous experience is required.

The sessions will be presented by A-Badge umpire, Carly Hewett.

The program will include:

Beginner steps to umpiring
Tools to help complete the online FOUNDATION Umpiring Course
Plus EXTRA Training, Coaching and Mentoring.
Bring a whistle & rule book (both available for purchase from the WNC Shop at reception)

Dates: Beginning of 2026 - Dates to be finalised.
Times: 9.30 AM – 11.00 AM

Venue: Waverley Room

Waverley Netball Centre

Cost: $20.00

Participants will have the opportunity to umpire in the 2026 Autumn Season Saturday Competition.

UMPIRES IN THE FIELD - GAME AND MATCH MANAGEMENT COURSE:

Waverley Night Netball Association will hold a game and match management umpiring course.

The course will be presented by AA-Badge umpire, Raechel Richards.
